Anne enjoys the creative process of writing and art making as a counterpoint to her career in the helping professions. She began showing her visual art pieces and doing performance art around Chicago in 1992. Since then, Anne has continued to write creatively and to make art. She has participated in exhibitions around the Chicagoland area including the Art Center of Highland Park, Round the Coyote, Upper and Lower Links, as well as charity auctions.
Anne brings her interest in the unconscious and the ironic to her art. She is interested in how the truth of lived life and the hidden and unseen intersect in manifested reality. As an untrained artist, Anne enjoys the playful experience of working with found objects, drawings and collage.
Anne loves the meditative process of gathering the changing, decaying and unseen objects that catch her eye on her daily walks through the alleys, streets and parks of Chicago. She sees her art as visual poetry that has helped her to formulate her thoughts and impressions into words. Like dream images and all transcendental works of art, Anne’s work strives to activate the healing process of making the unconscious conscious.
